What is the difference between knowledge and wisdom?

Posted on Jul 3rd, 2008 by meetmaria : A Handful meetmaria
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 02, 2008:

Knowledge is nothing without the Wisdom to use it.

"Knowledge is only potential power. KNOWLEDGE will not attract money, unless it is organized, and intelligently directed, through practical PLANS OF ACTION, to the DEFINITE END of accumulation of money. Knowledge has no value except that which can be gained from its application toward some worthy end. Successful men, in all callings, never stop acquiring specialized knowledge related to their major purpose, business or profession."

How would you respond to those who feel overwhelmed by bad news?

By always looking on the bright side. For example when someone has died I always tell the loved ones to remember that now the person is in much better of a position to help guide them through life.

When is competition valuable?

Posted on Jul 3rd, 2008 by meetmaria : A Handful meetmaria
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 03, 2008:

I don't really think competition is of much value in today's world. The whole idea of me vs. you, I win and you lose, I feel great (since I've taken some of your energy) and you feel less than great, is rather played out. Instead we as a society should be working first on ourselves, making sure we have enough of our own energy supply provided by our connection with God (so no need to take other people's energy). And then working together on building each other up not tearing each other down.
If I win and you win isn't that much much better?

What gets in the way of us connecting with others?

Posted on Jul 10th, 2008 by meetmaria : A Handful meetmaria
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 10, 2008:

I think James Redfield's explanation in the Celestine Prophecy explained this most perfectly.

THE FOURTH INSIGHT . . . THE STRUGGLE FOR POWER
"Too often humans cut themselves off from the greater source of this energy and so feel weak and insecure. To gain energy we tend to manipulate or force others to give us attention and thus energy. When we successfully dominate others in this way, we feel more powerful, but they are left weakened and often fight back. Competition for scarce, human energy is the cause of all conflict between people."

It's so very true. Too many people in the world are stressed, depressed and oppressed, contributing to the massive disconnect from the oneness that is everything. The lack of a relationship with the divine causes much of the suffering in the world. If each individual found their connection with the divine and lived in accordance to that, the world would be a much better place to live in.
